Hello, I'm Sophia
Project manager and parent, an expat currently living in Barcelona, Spain.
Several years ago, I moved here with my family. What began as a temporary contract gradually opened a new chapter of life abroad.
How It Started
Moving to Spain wasn't in the long-term plan. Like many expatriate transitions, it began as a job opportunity and quickly grew into something much bigger.
The initial months were demanding — unfamiliar processes, new routines, fresh expectations. Daily tasks seemed more complicated than they needed to be.
The Adjustment Period
There was culture shock, uncertainty, and a lot of learning by doing. Yet gradually routines took shape. We found places that fit us, connected with other families, and began creating something that felt steady.
Why I Created MildMeadowStone
Much online information was either corporate relocation guidance or shallow tourism content. What lacked was a genuine, everyday family viewpoint.
This site aims to fill that gap with practical guidance drawn from real-life experiences in Spain.
What This Site Does (And Doesn't)
This site OFFERS:
- Hands-on experience from living in Spain
- Centered on family life and daily realities
- Updated whenever something truly changes
This site DOESN'T:
- Not a tourism authority resource
- Not a sponsored review platform
- Not a generic travel blog
Looking Forward
Our stay in Spain goes on, and so does the learning journey. As long as the information remains helpful, I’ll continue noting what we find.
If you have questions about family life in Barcelona or anywhere in Spain, please don't hesitate to get in touch.
Best regards,
Sophia
